Quantitative Findings
To discover if Executive Coaching could impact the vertical development of executive clients, I decided to put myself to the test. Was my Coaching effective?
12 Executives purposively selected for their >80% Achievist profile (orange) participated in the Research Case Study. At the start their average aggregate vertical profile was 92% conventional - up to and including Achievist. Three years later, 92% of their profile as post-conventional at Catalyst and Synergist.
80% of the Executives made the StageSHIFT from Achievist to Catalyst in a single year and 20% made a double StageSHIFT from Achievist to Synergist in the one year.


Qualitative Findings
Following a thematic cross-case analysis of >150 coaching hours documented in >100,000 words, the study identified 8 factors, 5 active vertical ingredients (see Transformative Coaching) and 3 key drivers:
- Elevate the System with Systemic Strategic Scaffolding to SHAPE THE FUTURE and Ignite Strategic Alignment.
- Cultivate the Self with Vertical Holistic Development to EVOLVE TALENT and Invite Networked Leadership
- Generate the Shift with Confident Collaborative Influence to TRANSFORM OUR WORLD and Inspire Flourishing Ecosystems.
By focusing on the System, Self and Shift in this sequence, we first create the space for growth, enable this growth, and then manifest this growth in the form of embodied Synergist Leadership held by less than 10% of Executives.
Elevate the System to SHAPE THE FUTURE
We elevate the system to create an aspirational strategic context - STRATEGY, a streamlined organizational STRUCTURE, and an orchestrated approach to liberating meetings - SYNCHRONY, to create and sustain Purposeful Alignment and Business Cohesion.
Simultaneously the elevated systemic context creates the expansive space for vertical leadership growth, the development of a team-based, accountable, empowered, learning (teal) culture, and organic business expansion.
